Sonic The Hedgehog rock band Crush 40 have added more UK dates to their ‘Speed Of Sound’ world anniversary tour.
American hard rock band Crush 40 are behind some of Sonic The Hedgehog’s biggest musical moments including ‘Open Your Heart’ (Sonic Adventure), ‘Live And Learn’ (Sonic Adventure 2), ‘What I’m Made Of…’ (Sonic Heroes), ‘I Am… All of Me’ (Shadow The Hedgehog) and ‘Green Light Ride’ (Team Sonic Racing).
Earlier this year, vocalist Johnny Gioeli announced a “last hurrah” world tour to coincide with Sonic’s 35th anniversary. “The band will play the songs that helped define the sound of the Sonic The Hedgehog series. The concert has been designed so that the visuals are not just a backdrop, but a core part of the show itself,” reads a press release. “Original animations, custom visuals, and a unique story will play alongside the music, creating a fully immersive experience that evolves throughout the performance.”
However, The Crush 40 ‘Speed Of Sound’ tour has been described as a “fan event” and isn’t anything to do with Sega. At the end of 2024, Johnny Gioeli sued Sega for more than $1million over ownership of Sonic anthem ‘Live And Learn’ but the lawsuit was dismissed last year.
The ‘Speed Of Sound’ tour kicks off at Los Angeles’ Avalon Theatre on December 11, and visits London’s Troxy on February 6, 2027. Now more UK dates have been added to the run.
The ‘Speed Of Sound’ tour will visit:
FEBRUARY 2027
6 – Troxy, London (Immersive show)
7 – Glee Club, Birmingham (unplugged)
10 – Glee Club, Cardiff (unplugged)
11 – Academy, Manchester (standard)
14 – Glee Club, Glasgow (unplugged)
Tickets will be available here.

An official Sonic anniversary tour is also set to take place later this year. ‘Sonic Live In Concert’ will feature “the most recognisable music” from across the franchise, performed by a live ensemble. The concert also highlights the creative legacy behind Sonic’s music from legendary composers Jun Senoue and Tomoya Ohtani, whose work has helped define Sonic’s sound across generations.”
The tour will visit London in September before a full UK run next February.
In other news, classic Call Of Duty games Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are coming to PlayStation next month.
