EXCLUSIVE: Robin Givens (Harlem, Batwoman) has joined the recurring cast of Prime Video‘s Cross for Season 3.
Givens will play Senator Mulrooney, an intellectual conservative, overbearing both as a parent and a partner. She is the wife of a doctor and the mother of a son, whose problems the Senator keeps a closely guarded secret.
Cross, based upon characters created by James Patterson, is a Washington, D.C.-based crime drama that follows Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge), a brilliant homicide detective and forensic psychologist, uniquely capable of digging into the minds of serial killers in order to identify and catch them.
Season 2 followed Cross in pursuit of a ruthless vigilante who is hunting down corrupt billionaire magnates.
Renewed for a third season, the thriller will continue to expand the high-stakes world of its lead character, building on its storytelling and performances.
Cross was developed for television by showrunner and executive producer Watkins and produced by Amazon, MGM Studios, and Paramount Television Studios. Season 2 was executive produced by Craig Siebels, Patterson, Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, Aiyana White, J. David Shanks, Owen Shiflett, Bill Robinson, Patrick Santa, and Hodge.
Givens is perhaps best known for her leading role as Darlene in the 1980s sitcom Head of the Class and its 2021 revival. Most recently, she recurred in Prime Video’s Harlem and as a series regular on The CW’s Batwoman. Her prior credits also include a series regular on The Fix for ABC and Ambitions for OWN, and in a heavy recurring role on The CW’s Riverdale and Katy Keene as Mayor McCoy. Givens also made guest appearances in FXX’s Man Seeking Woman, Netflix’s Lucifer, the CW’s Everybody Hates Chris, NBC’s Chuck, USA Network’s Burn Notice, and NBC’s The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
As a director, Givens recently worked behind the camera on CBS’ So Help Me Todd, Elsbeth, and Fox’s Best Medicine. She is repped by LINK Entertainment and the Kaplan Stahler Agency.
