EXCLUSIVE: WME Motion Picture Group Agent Niki Montazaran is joining Cinetic Media as Senior Manager where she’ll be based in the LA office expanding the firm’s representation with preeminent filmmaking and lit talent.
Throughout her career at WME, and previously at the Motion Picture Lit Department of ICM, Montazaran repped multihyphenates, producers, and emerging talent. Among the filmmakers she has worked with are BAFTA winner Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow), Indie Spirit winner Roshan Sethi (A Nice Indian Boy, and the upcoming Surgeon starring Michelle Yeoh), Nida Manzoor (Polite Society, Channel 4’s critically-acclaimed We Are Lady Parts), and Aleshea Harris (Is God Is). She represented many clients in the all-audience, comedy space such as filmmaker Jeff Fowler (Sonic), writers Buchsbaum & Riley (Goat, Amazon’s Fairfax), and the Molyneux Sisters (upcoming Mitchells vs. Machines 2, The Great North, Bob’s Burgers). She has guided the film careers of many creators from the TV, theatre, and documentary spaces, including Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall (Hot Wing King, P-Valley), Robin Thede (A Black Lady Sketch Show), Gabriela Cowperthwaite (Blackfish), and Academy-Award winner Roger Ross Williams (Cassandro). She also worked closely with several production companies, setting up their projects and advising on their slates, including Janelle Monae’s Wondaland Pictures and Ben Affleck’s Artists Equity, among others.
