Billie Dane is reflecting on her bond with Eric Dane.
The 16-year-old paid tribute to her late dad in a Father’s Day post on June 21, sharing pictures of the two of them from when she was younger.
“Happy fathers dad dada,” Billie wrote in an Instagram Story, “not one date goes by where I don't miss you. I love you so much more than words could ever describe.”
After the 53-year-old’s death on Feb. 19 following his battle with ALS, his daughters Billie and Georgia Dane, 14—whom he shares with ex Rebecca Gayheart—have been navigating their grief journey.
In fact, Gayheart shared how Georgia celebrated a recent milestone in the wake of her dad’s passing.
“Congratulations Georgia!!! You have graduated middle school and survived an incredibly difficult year,” the Jawbreaker star wrote in a June 6 Instagram post, which showed her younger daughter accepting a flower onstage. “I am so beyond proud of you — your tenacity, grit and grace has been on full display.”
And Gayheart also honored the Euphoria star on Father’s Day, expressing her bittersweet feelings toward the holiday as her family learns to deal with their loss.
“I hurt for my girls today,” she wrote in a June 21 Instagram Story. “It’s a ‘first’ of many to come. I know Eric is looking out for them every day.”
Indeed, Dane hoped to look out for his kids even after death, imparting some words of wisdom to his daughters in a posthumous interview shared on Feb. 20.
“First, live now. It's hard, but I learned to do that," he said on Netflix's Famous Last Words. "Second, fall in love. Not necessarily with a person—although I do recommend that as well—but fall in love with something. Find your passion, your joy.”
He continued, telling his children to “choose your friends wisely” and to “fight with every ounce of your being and with dignity when you face challenges, health or otherwise.”
The Grey’s Anatomy alum also emphasized that a piece of him will always be with his girls, adding, “The two of you are different people, but you're both strong and resilient. You inherited resiliency from me. That's my superpower."
