The public is undeniably obsessed with Obsession.
The hit indie horror film brought in an additional $19 million in its fifth weekend since its release, Variety confirmed.
The Curry Barker-directed movie faced just a 25% decline, and is still holding strong at No. 2 at the domestic box office.
The movie opened at $17 million, and has since brought in $188.3 million domestically and $265 million at the global box office, according to the report.
It’s now the highest-grossing release of all time for Focus Features, and the highest-grossing horror film of 2026. It’s also the first movie since 1982’s E.T. The Extraterrestrial to have second and third weekend increases outside of the holiday season, per Focus Features.
Inde Navarrette opened up about a very “freaky” connection to Obsession that happened before she was even cast in the movie.
In the movie, after breaking the mysterious “One Wish Willow” to win his crush’s heart (Navarrette), a hopeless romantic (Michael Johnston) finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a dark, sinister price.
The 26-year-old YouTuber-turned-director is now getting offers for his next project, which he hasn’t even pitched yet.
