Kyle Cooke is getting candid about his divorce from Amanda Batula.

Following the conclusion of the Summer House season ten reunion, the 43-year-old Bravo star opens up about how they’re navigating their split without a prenup.

While speaking with People in a new interview, Kyle said the plan is for a “walkaway” divorce, “in lieu of a prenup.”

What the walkaway divorce entails

The walkaway divorce means that they would both leave the marriage with their respective assets and property they already hold in possession.

This also means they would not seek financial concessions from each other.

The reality star shared with People that he received an email from her lawyer in mid-March, around the time rumors of her and West Wilson were circulating.

He now says for “someone who doesn’t take a lot of initiative,” he thought “it was kind of weird. I’m like, ‘Wait, is there some ulterior motive in terms of why she’s all of a sudden expediting the divorce?'”

During the Summer House reunion, when asked if they filed for divorce yet, Amanda revealed she did retain counsel and her lawyer reached out to Kyle, but there was no other movement.

What Amanda has said about not having a prenup

While she was originally the one who pushed back on the prenup, Amanda has since expressed regret over not signing one.

During an episode of Watch What Happens Live earlier this year, she noted, “Everyone needs a prenup. We’re gonna be fine, but still, like, it could have not been fine.”

On an episode of the podcast Trading Secrets, she addressed joking that if they got divorced she would take half of his beverage brand LoverBoy.

“That’s his baby,” she said. “I’m not gonna steal something that he’s put his heart and soul into and worked so hard on. So I’m not taking half the business.”
