EXCLUSIVE: Comedian Brian Bates is set to debut a new special, Worried, via Nateland Entertainment‘s YouTube channel Friday, July 24 at 4 p.m. CT/5 p.m. ET.
In the hour, filmed at The Lab at Zanies in Nashville, Bates puts a lifetime of overthinking, awkward encounters and people-pleasing toward reflections on getting married and becoming a first-time father later in life.
From surviving dating apps and raising a four-year-old in his 50s to sleep apnea, potty-training emergencies, expensive dog therapy and the financial trauma of removing a tree, he proves there is no situation too ordinary to worry about.
Brian Bates: Worried is produced by Nate Bargatze’s Nateland Entertainment, Matt Schuler, Jarad Clement and Tristan Swang. Exec producers include Bargatze, Adrian Kulp and Jordan Levy.
Bates worked for nearly 20 years in corporate America until at the age of 43, he gave up his day job to pivot into a career as a stand-up comedian. Since then, the Nashville-based comic has been touring the country performing at clubs, theaters, corporate events and churches.
An originating member of Bargatze’s Nateland Podcast, Bates served as a host and producer during the show’s six-year run. He now works with fellow comedians Aaron Weber and Dusty Slay as one of the hosts and producers of The Public Figures Podcast.
Bates has previously released the Dry Bar Comedy specials Uber Important and Hello Folks, performs regularly at the Grand Ole Opry, and can be heard frequently on Pure Comedy Channel 98 on SiriusXM satellite radio. He made his acting debut with a couple of episodes of Amazon’s Sprung and most recently appeared in Bargatze’s TriStar comedy The Breadwinner.
