Just like your favorite lip combo, Huda Beauty and setting powders are a match made in makeup heaven. That's why the brand enlisted rapper Cardi B to help launch two new shades of the bestselling powders.
While founder Huda Kattan calls Easy Bake powders the secret to a "snatched" makeup look, she told E! that most of us are applying them all wrong.
"I think the biggest misconception and the thing that people get wrong is that they need to go too heavy," explains Huda. Rather than load on layer upon layer of powder, she suggests using less product for a blurred effect that prevents skin from looking cakey.
Additionally, Huda shared that skin type matters when choosing between loose and pressed powders—and how much product to apply.
"I think if you have texture, if you have pores, if you have wrinkles, go with your loose powder, because that will just make sure that everything is super, super smooth."
She continues, "If you have oily skin, you can actually go heavier with powder, and the more the day goes on and the oilier your skin gets, the better your skin looks."
Ideal for those with oily or textured skin, this loose powder blurs and sets while brightening the under-eye area.
On the other hand, those with dry skin are better off using a pressed powder, explains Huda.
"If you don't have a lot of wrinkles, you don't have a lot of texture, and you just need something to set, I would say go with pressed first." You can then apply a minimal amount of loose powder to lock everything in.
"If you have dry skin like I do, I, for me, and I know this is, like, so cliche, people talk about skin prep, but, I love a heavy moisturizer before I do my glam."
According to Huda, this helps prevent powders from drying out the skin and looking cakey.
"I'm a big fan of Embryolisse. I have loved Embryolisse from, like, forever. And I just, like, mask it [on]," says Huda. She explains this cult-favorite moisturizer is her hack for keeping powder from looking cakey.
Huda shared that Easy Bake powders are often a staple in any celebrity makeup artist's kit, and so are Huda Beauty's viral lip stains.
"I kid you not, almost every single one of your favorite celebrities is obsessed with our lip stains, and they tell me that all the time," she raves.
"I think it doesn't really matter what kind of glam person you are, our lip stains are divine. They are super long-lasting."
"Sometimes I don't wear concealer, I just put on our color corrector," shares Huda. "It does its job but is not intimidating as well, which is really nice."
