Swedish singer-songwriter Zara Larsson moved house from Epic Records to RCA Records, sources say; a sidestep under the broader Sony Music umbrella.

Pop star Zara Larsson recently left her longtime home of Epic Records and is now signed to RCA Records. Multiple sources confirm that the Swedish singer-songwriter was entertaining offers from several labels, but Sony—parent company to both Epic and RCA—inked a deal to keep her within its ecosystem.

Larsson signed to Epic Records in 2013, releasing her debut 1 under the label the following year, and her breakthrough album So Good in 2017. She followed up that success with Poster Girl (2021) and Venus (2024), but it wasn’t until last year’s Midnight Sun that she scored several charting and viral hits. These include the album’s title track, her 2015 single “Lush Life,” and her collaboration with PinkPantheress, “Stateside.”

“Lush Life” recently went viral on TikTok, sparking a wave of interest in the track and the artist, and propelling the song back onto the Hot 100 at #35. That momentum has made an impact on her latest album, whose eponymous “Midnight Sun” peaked at #19 last week and also landed at #1 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart, where it has spent the last 23 weeks. As a result of her sudden spike in popularity, Larsson was named Billboard’s Women in Music Breakthrough for 2026.

“I think this year cemented me as not only a girl with popular songs, but a girl worth talking about in pop culture,” Larsson said in an interview in April.

Taking a page out of Charli XCX’s playbook, she released a remix album called Midnight Sun: Girls Trip in May. The record features guest appearances by Shakira, Tyla, Kehlani, Robyn, and more.

Larsson is currently on tour until the beginning of November. Her star’s continued ascent over the past several months saw demand for stops in Australia increase to the point that several venues were upgraded to accommodate larger crowds.
