EXCLUSIVE: Banijay Rights has struck its first international deal for buzzy physical comedy gameshow Let’s Play Ball.

Heated Rivalry streamer Crave has picked up the format for French Canada and will make a bumper 10 x 60-minute version of the show that sees celebrities push giant balls across various terrains.

Produced by Sphere Media, the Canadian version will travel across Montreal, from narrow city streets and open countryside to flowing rivers.

Let’s Play Ball, a former Deadline Global Breakout, started life on YouTube before being scaled up by EndemolShine Nederland and local broadcaster SBS6. ITV is developing a version in the UK with Last One Laughing UK producers Initial and Zeppotron, while in the U.S. Bunim/Murray Productions is taking the show to market.

Banijay Rights Canada SVP Jane Rimer said: “Let’s Play Ball is a bold, highly visual. format with universal appeal, combining larger-than-life, laugh-out-loud comedy with ahealthy dose of competition. Securing our first international deal for Let’s Play Ball with Bell Media here in Quebec is a fantastic milestone, and we cannot wait to partner with Bell Media again to bring this uniquely entertaining format to life for French-Canadian audiences.”
