Tom Holland's nickname for Zendaya isn't so far from home.

As the Spider-Man: Brand New Day costars attended the Marvel film's premiere in Rome, Holland wasn't calling his wife by her first name or the first letter of it, as he usually does.

In fact, while speaking with reporters on the red carpet June 23 about a nearby gelateria, the actor opted to use her middle name. He called out, "Maree, do you remember the name of that place?"

And proving she's more than familiar with Holland referring to her by that moniker, the Challengers actress—who was being interviewed further down the carpet—responded, "Giolitti's!"

She revealed to reporters in a separate clip from the exchange, "That's where we're going after this."

Zendaya (full name Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman) previously shared insight into her decision to use her first name in her public persona. As she explained to Allure in December 2016, "I just thought it was cool, like Cher or Prince."

Although the Emmy winner doesn't use her middle name, it is a moniker she holds close to her heart. In fact, she revealed that Sam Levinson had even named her character Marie in his 2021 film Malcom & Marie.

"She was written for me," she explained to The Hollywood Reporter at the time. "She was also written to the woman that I am and to the woman that I'm becoming."

As Zendaya, 29, continues to grow into the woman she wants to be, she's doing it with Holland, 30, by her side.

"There's a certain feeling that I was able to experience when I knew that this is my person because I don't feel nervous around them," she told The Drama costar Robert Pattinson during a New York Times interview this April. "I feel really peaceful and I feel really calm."

"I feel like, 'Oh, I actually feel more nervous when I'm away from you than when I'm with you,'" she added. "That's when I was like, 'Ah, that's a good sign, me listening to my intuition or body.'"

Although Zendaya—who met Holland during their chemistry read for 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming—shared a glimpse into their marvelous romance, she and her husband have opted to keep much of their personal life private.

"I do know that I'm a public person, and so is he," she began. "I'm also aware that we've grown up in front of people and we've done movies where we fall in love with each other, so I really do understand that and I don't want to dismiss that like, 'Stay out of my business' or whatever."

However, she emphasized, "I try my best to be able to have things for myself and for him as well."
