Ed Sheeran has changed the start time for his concert in Philadelphia this weekend after the opening acts for his show dropped out of the tour.
The singer has been dealing with a professional crisis this past week after dropping Macklemore from his tour following the singer’s pro-Palestine remarks on stage at the Loop Tour two weeks ago. All of the other opening acts on the tour decided to back out of the remaining shows out of solidarity.
It looks like Ed didn’t find anyone else to open up for him in Philly and he’ll be performing alone at the venue.
TikTok user @bridgetgoes reports that Ticketmaster sent ticket holders a notification that the start time for the Philadelphia show has been updated.
Just like all other shows on the tour, Ed was supposed to start the concert at 5:30pm with his opening acts doing their sets before his start time at 8:00pm. Now, the start time for the show has been updated to 8:00pm, when Ed was already scheduled to go on stage.
The Ticketmaster listing for the Philly show indeed shows the start time as 8:00pm now, though all future stadium dates are still listed as 5:30pm. Perhaps he’s still hoping to find openers for those shows?
Ed reportedly has given a major donation to the people of Palestine amid the controversy.
