EXCLUSIVE:  United Talent Agency (UTA) has inked Oscar, Emmy, DGA, and WGA-winning writer and director Barry Levinson for representation in all areas.The 6x Oscar nominated, Rain Man Oscar winning filmmaker counts a feature canon of such pics as Good Morning, Vietnam, Bugsy, The Natural, Avalon and Diner. Last year, Levinson directed and produced The Alto Knights, starring Robert DeNiro, and executive produced the Emmy-nominated limited series Dopesick. The Baltimore, MD native’s additional television credits include serving as executive producer on Showtime’s City on a Hill, NBC’s Shades of Blue, and the HBO series Oz.Levinson also continues to produce through his banner Baltimore Pictures alongside longtime collaborators Jason Sosnoff and Maura Mazurowski, with the company remaining a steady force behind a range of acclaimed film and television projects including Homicide: Life on the Streets, Donnie Brasco, Home Fries, Liberty Heights, and more. Levinson first emerged as a writer, earning Emmy Awards for his work on The Carol Burnett Show before joining forces with Mel Brooks to co-write acclaimed films Silent Movie and High Anxiety. He made his feature directorial debut with Diner, which landed him his second Oscar nomination at that time for Original Screenplay following 1980’s And Justice for All. Levinson studied at American University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue comedy, writing, and directing. Over the course of his career, he has received numerous honors including multiple Emmy Awards, a Directors Guild of America Award, and a Writer’s Guild of America Award.The filmmaker continues to be represented by Atlas Artists and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof and Fishman LLP.
