Prince George and Kate Middleton's royally sweet outing has fans doing a double take.
Why? Because the mother-son duo proved to be nearly the same height during their visit to the Royal Air Force Coningsby.
Indeed, footage shared to Kate and Prince William's Instagram June 27 shows the Princess of Wales standing alongside their 12-year-old, who has grown almost as tall as his 5-foot-nine-inch mom.
"Oh my word!" one commenter wrote. "Heâs so tall."
While another Instagram user noted, "It feels as though it was just yesterday his parents were introducing him to the world outside of the hospital, and now he has grown remarkably tall."
In addition to posing for photos, George and Kate, 44, can be seen meeting with pilots and exploring aircrafts at RAF Coningsby.
"Honoring Service and Sacrifice," a caption on the royal Instagram page reads. "Marking Armed Forces Day by reflecting on time spent with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at RAF Coningsby."
"A powerful reminder of the courage, skill and dedication of those who serve, past and present," the message continued. "Thank you to all those who have served and continue to serve."
Royal fans also couldn't help but note George might be following in Prince William's footsteps. After all, the Prince of Wales is a pilot himself, having served in the UK's Armed Forces.
"And just like that," one commenter wrote, "a pilot is born."
In the coming months, George will have a lot of milestones to celebrate, including his 13th birthday on July 22.
And in September, Georgeâolder brother to Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8âis set to start Eton College, the boarding school both William and Prince Harry previously attended.
When George goes off to Eton, he might get access to a certain item he's been hoping forâa cell phone.
"I think when George moves on to secondary school, then maybe he will have a phone then that has no internet access," William told host Luciano Huck during a November interview. "To be honest, itâs getting to the point where itâs becoming a little bit of a tense issue. But I think he understands why. We communicate why we donât think itâs right."
As William, 44, further explained, "I think itâs the internet access that I have a problem with. I think children can access too much stuff they donât need to see online. So having a phone and text message, the old sort of brick phone as they call them, I think thatâs fine.â
