The Saltburn star has agreed to reprise his role as Jonny McGee for a five-part Netflix prequel series, which will be written by Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett.
McGee was an antagonist in Season 5 of Top Boy, a high-ranking member of the Irish mob who distributed drugs in London for his uncle, Tadgh McGee.
Keoghan and his business partner Des Byrne will co-produce Jonny Boy through their company Wolfclub Productions. Cowboy Films is also producing.
“We pitched our vision and idea to Netflix and the executive producers and they were so supportive in wanting to bring our passion project forward, exploring Jonny McGee’s origin story through a new bold lens,” said Keoghan and Byrne.
