Fine-art photography company Sonic Editions has released 18 prints of Michael Jackson to mark what would have been his 68th birthday on Saturday (Aug. 29), bringing together rare archival photographs from his years with The Jackson 5 and his journey as a solo artist. The collection includes early family pictures, portraits of the “Thriller” singer and concert images from the 1970s through the 1990s, offering a range of moments from throughout his career. Among the selection are photographs taken at the Jackson home in Los Angeles, on tour in Manchester, on the streets of London and performing on ski slopes in Switzerland.
Prices start at $99 for a 4×11-inch print without a frame. Every print is available in five sizes, with options for print only, a black frame or a white frame. Framed prints start at $189 for the 4×11-inch size, while the largest 37×26-inch print is priced at $999.

Sonic Editions has built its reputation around producing fine-art photography prints with a focus on quality, presentation and accessibility. Founded in 2009, the company has an extensive archive covering music, film, fashion, sport and other areas of popular culture, with photographs featuring musicians including Dolly Parton, Madonna, The Beatles and Nirvana. Its musician collections have also included releases tied to notable birthdays, making the Michael Jackson collection part of a wider approach to presenting archival music photography as collectible wall art.
I received a 4×11-inch print of Madonna from 1983 in a black frame and was particularly impressed with the quality of the finished piece. The rare photograph was released for her 68th birthday on Aug. 16 and has a sharp, high-quality appearance, which is protected by a dust cover on the back of the frame. It also arrived well packaged inside a secure box with a three-dimensional molded cardboard insert that kept the framed print firmly suspended during shipping.
Sophie Dunne/BillboardSonic Editions’ framed prints are custom-made to order using solid wood mouldings, shatterproof gallery-grade Perspex and archival Fuji Crystal Archive paper. Each photograph is mounted with conservation-grade materials, individually numbered and accompanied by the story behind the image on the reverse.
Framed prints take 2 to 5 business days to process, while print-only editions take 2 to 3 business days. U.S. ground shipping takes 2 to 7 business days, with free shipping on orders over $200. Two-day and overnight options are also available.
