Suri Cruise is proving the apple never falls too far from the tree. 

After all, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes’ 20-year-old daughter is staying true to the family business as she recently made her acting debut in Midsummer!

Suri wears many hats in the adaptation of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, portraying Helena, Mustardseed, Flute and Thisbe in the show running until Aug. 19 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. 

But her tenure on the stage marks just one of many milestones she’s celebrated as of late. 

After all, Katie—who split with Tom in 2012—recently expressed how excited she was for her daughter’s new chapter after she was accepted into Carnegie Mellon University in 2024.

"I’m proud of my daughter,” the Dawson’s Creek star told Town & Country at the time. “Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy."

"I remember being this age, this time of beginnings,” she added. “It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that."

And while it comes as no surprise that Suri—referred to as Suri Noelle at her high school graduation—has acting in her blood, Katie, 47, has previously opened up about the unique challenges of raising a child in the public eye.

"What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her," Katie told Glamour in April 2023. "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."

And the Happy Hours actress always had an inkling that her little girl would go on to dominate the entertainment industry. After all, Suri sang and provided background vocals on Katie’s recent projects Alone Together and Rare Objects. 

"I hope she always does something on my films," Katie said. "I always ask her. But both of those experiences came out of the same sense of what I love about our industry, which is, you have these projects and you become a family with people." 

She added, "It was very meaningful to me to have her there, because she's my heart."
