Singer James Blunt is seemingly reacting to the internet speculation that he’s the man who was naked in bed with Hayden Panettiere against her will.
The 52-year-old singer shared a link to the “WTF with Dean Piper” Substack, where a lengthy defense of him was published.
Dean wrote, “In 2009, in my capacity as a showbiz columnist, I wrote an article about Hayden Panettiere and James Blunt at the amfAR charity event in Cannes. They’d arrived together, had been flirty throughout and had gone to the afterparty together. They were photographed on a boat the next day, smiling and having fun.”

In Hayden‘s memoir, released earlier this year, she relayed a story where she was placed into bed with a “famous thirtysomething British singer-songwriter” while vacationing on a yacht. At the time, she was only 18 years old, and the man in question was not clothed. Many started zeroing in on James as a suspect because of Dean Piper’s writing.
Now, Dean is sharing more: “But from here we’ve seen an internet storm – which involves THOUSANDS of comments and DMs on Blunt’s social media accounts – concluding that James was the man in the cabin, and that he was not only in on it, but he is a human trafficker, devil-worshipper, paedophile, rapist, and – you guessed it – murderer. Guys, it only takes the smallest of AI searches to find out that in May 2009, when the pictures of Blunt and Panettiere were taken, she was 19, almost 20. So, if the incident happened when she was 18, Blunt’s not your guy to start with.”
