Anthony Kiedis enjoyed a night on the town with his girlfriend Eileen Kelly this weekend.
The 63-year-old Red Hot Chili Peppers rocker and the 30-year-old Vogue columnist were spotted out for dinner at popular restaurant E Baldi on Friday night (August 21) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The couple was seen sharing a kiss while putting their helmets on to get on his motorcycle and drive away after the meal.
Anthony and Eileen have a 33-year age-gap, which is something she addressed in a recent essay she wrote for Vogue, titled, “My Boyfriend is Double My Age.” She doesn’t name drop her boyfriend in the essay, but we all know who he is at this point.
Noting that her boyfriend is “more than twice my age,” Eileen said that is “either alarming or impressive, depending on who you ask,” and said it is the first time she’s dated someone “significantly older.”
But Eileen doesn’t see an issue with it, and said that she will sometimes joke about what she’s been missing out on her entire life.
“My much older boyfriend seems genuinely excited to be with me—not like he’s biding his time before he can swipe for someone better. He is fully aware that he’s one lucky bastard,” she wrote.
They met at a birthday party and learned that she vacationed in a Hawaiian town where Anthony owns a home.
As for how she’s dealing with criticism, Eileen wrote that any time a man dates a much younger woman, he is labeled “creepy” and “gross,” while the women is often called a “gold digger,” or said to “have daddy issues.”
They’ve gotten their fair share of “unsolicited” remarks, including people wondering if he’s her father.
“It’s incredibly awkward every time,” she said, though she did note that power imbalances can occur, but doesn’t believe they fall into that category as she is not dependent on him for stability.
“I have my own money, my own career, and I have my own home. I love my boyfriend, but I’m not at risk of losing everything if we break up,” she said.
