EXCLUSIVE: Jake and Logan Paul are coaching a new generation of fighters.
The brothers, who are YouTube stars with various experience in boxing and wrestling, as well as courting controversy, have landed a fight competition series at Hulu and ESPN.
The untitled series, which previously had the working title Fight Island, is a major statement from Disney and is intended to appeal to young, male audiences.
The series comes from Brent Montgomeryâs Wheelhouse, which is behind series such as Netflixâs Million Dollar Secret, Americaâs Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and A&Eâs Duck Dynasty reboot, and Jake Paulâs Most Valuable Promotions.
In the works for some time, the series is a âruthless competition where eliminations are not settled by a vote; they are settled by a fightâ.
âSplit into rival teams, coached by two rival brothers, the fighters live and train together in the wild. But the battle really begins before the fight, because fighters choose the matchups, turning every alliance, every rivalry into a strategic weapon. Jake and Logan will send the losers of each fight home until just one man and one woman are left standing to claim victory,â reads the logline.
The fights will take all shapes from MMA to boxing, wrestling, jiu jitsu, muay Thai and karate.
It marks the first time that Hulu and ESPN have co-greenlit a series, which has started to cast and is expected to go into production in the new year.
It will add a male-skewing show to its unscripted lineup, which is predominantly female-skewing with series such as The Kardashians, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and Vanderpump Villa.
The brothers, who have over 100M social media followers across TikTok, Instagram and Twitter, previously appeared together on HBO Max reality series Paul American, which launched last year.
They both got their start on Vine and YouTube before pivoting into the world of fighting.
Logan Paul had an exhibition boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2020 before moving into the WWE, where he became the United States Champion. He also hosts the Impaulsive podcast.
Jake Paul, who starred on Disney Channelâs Bizaardvark, also moved into boxing. He famously defeated Mike Tyson in 2024 that streamed on Netflix and was watched by over 100M people globally.
He also founded Most Valuable Productions in 2021 alongside Nakisa Bidarian
The series is exec produced by Brent Montgomery, Glenn Hugill, and Courtney White from Wheelhouse, Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul from Most Valuable Promotions and Logan Paul, Will Nothacker, Shyam Balse, Josie Lamberth, and Charlie Ebersol.
âThis series takes everything we love about competitive combat and turns it into a high-stakes survival spectacle for todayâs audiences. You choose your opponent, fight to stay, and have nowhere to hide. The fighter-first mentality is changing the industry; we canât wait to see who has what it takes,â said Jake and Logan Paul.
âThis project is the latest step forward for MVP as we continue to disrupt sports and entertainment with high-impact, innovative opportunities that define the future of combat sports,â added Nakisa Bidarian. âWeâve always believed there is a major, untapped market to bring new audiences into combat sports by telling compelling stories around the athletes, and this format takes that idea to another level.â
Brent Montgomery said, âWheelhouse was created for moments like this, bringing a high concept to life with massive stars who create bold new content, unmistakably their own, that connects authentically with their fans. With Disney, MVP and the Paul brothers, we are well equipped to build out singular IP that can live across multiple platforms, and beyond the screen.â
