The soundtrack for the first three Halo games is getting a vinyl release ahead of the Campaign Evolved remake.
The first Halo game was released in 2001 as a launch title for the original Xbox and a sequel to the first-person shooter followed in 2004. The final part of the original trilogy was released in 2007. In 2024, the soundtracks were released on vinyl for the first time and quickly sold out.
But Laced Records has confirmed a repress is on the way. The new Halo soundtrack release comes on special Spartan Green vinyl, inspired by Master Chief’s iconic MJOLNIR-powered assault armour. The soundtracks are available individually, or as a special 8LP boxset featuring artwork by Halo 3’s lead concept artist Isaac Hannaford. You can pre-order the Halo vinyl from Laced now, and it will ship in February 2027. Standard black vinyl is also available from select retailers.
The Halo Original Trilogy Soundtrack Collection 8LP vinyl box set has landed in a new colourway, “Spartan Green”.

“Taking inspiration from various genres, the Halo score combines sweeping orchestral cues with marching military snares, prog-rock percussion, and who can forget the Gregorian Monk chant? For Halo 2, the composers joined forces with A-list musicians, giving the Halo theme a heavy metal makeover with the new ‘Mjolnir Mix’. It was the first video game soundtrack to enter the Billboard 200,”Laced said in a press release. “Halo 3 featured tribal drums and prog-rock refrains while piano melodies alongside a 60-piece orchestra and 24-voice choir brought emotional depth to the soundtrack.”
Next month, a remake of the first Halo game is set to launch. Halo: Campaign Evolved has been described as “the definitive return trip through one of gaming’s greatest journeys,” and will feature “expanded gameplay, two-player split-screen on consoles, online and networked co-op for up to four players on console and PC, and seamless cross-platform play with shared progression.”
Earlier this week, original Halo composer and voice director Marty O’Donnell confirmed that he had a “short” conversation about Tom Cruise taking on the role of Master Chief for Halo 2 but it didn’t work out. “I knew that would have ruined everything,” he explained. “I know game fans are not necessarily blown away by big stars, they’re blown away by solid gameplay and emotionally compelling stories.”
In other news, Rockstar Games have shared a new teaser trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 ahead of pre-orders going live next week.
