EXCLUSIVE: Canada‘s Shaftesbury is supercharging its creative team. The Murdoch Mysteries maker has hired former Rogers content director Nataline Rodrigues in a VP role and promoted Susan Alexander to the same level.
Both execs be VP, Creative Content, with the latter upped from her Senior Director post. Rodrigues will work on Shaftesbury’s primetime shows in development and production, and led on efforts in the comedy space.
Rodrigues will report to Christina Jennings, Shaftesbury’s Chairman and President. She joins from her own company, Grit & Grace, and prior to that was Director of Original Content at Rogers Sports & Media, where she oversaw development, production and acquisition for the likes of Citytv, OMNI, FX and Viceland. There she commissioned the long-running Hudson & Rex, and her other credits include
“Nataline brings a rare combination of creative instinct and business savvy, and we are delighted to have her experience in our company,” said Jennings. “Expanding Shaftesbury’s comedy slate, which Nataline will focus on, marks an exciting new direction for us.”
Shaftesbury is among Canada’s biggest independent producers by volume, with Murdoch Mysteries in its twentieth season and Hudson & Rex in its tenth, and comedy shows such as Crave’s upcoming comedy series Slo Pitch, Irish-Canadian co-pro and the latest instalment of Hell Motel.
