Ron Perlman is set to guest star in the new episode of Dropout‘s “Game Changer,” Variety has learned exclusively.
Perlman will appear in Episode 3 of the show’s ongoing eighth season, which will debut tonight at 7 p.m. ET. The 10 episode seasons releases biweekly.
Exact details on Perlman’s appearance are being kept under wraps, but it is described as total surprise players Raphael Chestang, Lily Du, Katie Marovitch, Grant O’Brien, Rekha Shankar and Siobhan Thompson.
Perlman is known for his acclaimed television roles in shows like “Sons of Anarchy,” “Beauty and the Beast,” and “Hand of God.” He currently appears in the Apple TV adaptation of “Cape Fear,” while his other recent TV spots include “Poker Face,” “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” and “Fallout.” In film, Perlman is known for his frequent collaborations with Guillermo del Toro, including starring role in the first two “Hellboy” films, “Nightmare Alley,” and “Pacific Rim.”
Perlman is repped by Link Entertainment and Nelson Davis Law.
“Game Changer” is hosted by Dropout CEO Sam Reich. This seasons’ cast includes Brennan Lee Mulligan, Vic Michaelis, Lou Wilson and Jacob Wysocki. Reich also executive produces along with David Kerns. Co-executive producers for the season are Chloe Badner, Elaine Carroll, Ryan Creamer, Sam Geer, Mulligan and Paul Robalino.
“Game Changer” and fellow Dropout show “Very Important People” recently submitted for Emmys consideration in multiple categories, including outstanding game show for “Game Changer.” Variety‘s Clayton Davis sat down for an FYC conversation with Reich at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles in late May.
“Streamers are trying to be everything to anyone,” Reich said. “We’re trying to be something for someone. When you’re paying seven bucks a month for Dropout, you’re probably hardcore about us.”
