Steve Buscemi has joined the cast of the live-action adaptation of Far Cry, alongside Rob Mac and Lizzie Caplan.
Last year it was reported Noah Hawley (Alien: Earth, Fargo) was working on an adaptation of Far Cry alongside It’s Always Sunny… star Rob Mac. Revealed via a leaked update from Ubisoft, the project was described as an “anthology drama” with each season “set in a new world with a different cast of characters following the video game franchise’s signature standalone storytelling format.”
The project was later confirmed by FX. “A brand-new Far Cry anthology series is coming to Hulu with a whole new setting, new cast, and the exact level of chaos your therapist told you to avoid.”

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realised,” said Mac, who’ll star in the adaptation as well as produce it. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX family continues to lift me up with their constant belief and support.”
Earlier this year, it was announced that Lizzie Caplan had joined the cast of Far Cry and last night (July 14), Steve Buscemi was confirmed for the adaptation. “Welcome Steve Buscemi to the world of FX’s Far Cry. Hope you’re ready to get thrown into the deep end, lose your mind, and make a few catastrophically bad decisions along the way,” wrote the Far Cry X account. Caplan, Mac and Buscemi’s roles have yet to be revealed, but we do know that the series won’t be adapting any of the games. A release date is still to be confirmed as well.
Back in May, Far Cry developers Ubisoft promised a new game was in development – but fans might be waiting years to get their hands on it.
In other news, Microsoft has confirmed that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 will no longer be joining Xbox Game Pass this month.
