Jacob Elordi‘s new movie is hitting theaters this weekend!
The 29-year-old Oscar-nominated actor leads Ridley Scott‘s new post-apocalyptic film The Dog Stars, starring alongside Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce, and Benedict Wong.
Last week, Jacob attended the world premiere of the new movie in London, walking the red carpet alongside his four-legged co-star, who plays Japser, the loyal canine companion accompanying Jacob‘s character Hig in the movie.
What is The Dog Stars about?
Here’s the official synopsis:
The film tells the story of Hig (Elordi), a young pilot who, together with a military survivalist, Bangley (Brolin), has carved out an efficient but isolated homestead in a brutal post-apocalyptic world. But when Hig receives a mysterious radio transmission, he ventures into the unknown in search of the hope and humanity he still believes exist.
The movie is based on the book of the same name by Peter Heller.

Does the dog die in The Dog Stars?
We are sad to confirm that Jasper does die. The dog dies early in the movie during a chaotic raid on the isolated airstrip. His death acts as a major turning point, pushing Hig (Elordi) to leave home and search for a new community.
Jasper also dies in the novel, however, his manner of death is much different. In the book, Jasper dies of old age and passes away peacefully in his sleep.
