Tom Felton will stay with Broadway‘s Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for an additional two months, producers announced today, noting that it will be the final extension for the popular actor from the Potter film franchise.
Felton, who plays the adult Draco Malfoy on stage (in the films he played the child Draco), will perform in the role through Sunday, January 3, 2007. He’d previously been set to depart November 1.
Felton began his engagement at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre on November 11, 2025, revitalizing public interest in the play that opened in 2018. Since he joined the production, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has consistently been at or near the top spot on the Broadway grosses charts.
This is the first time a member of the original Harry Potter film franchise cast has joined the stage production, which tells a new story that takes place 19 years after the end of the original series. Draco, now a father, along with Harry, Ron and Hermione are all grown up and sending their own children off to Hogwarts.
Felton is not scheduled to appear at performances August 17-23, September 14-20, October 12-18 and November 2.
In addition to Felton, the current cast of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is led by John Skelley as Harry Potter and Trish Lindstrom as Ginny Potter with Emmet Smith as their son Albus Potter. Rachel Christopher and Daniel Fredrick play Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively, with Janae Hammond as their daughter Rose Granger-Weasley. Aidan Close plays Scorpius Malfoy and Kristen Martin plays Delphi Diggory.
