Though the Breakfast Club star admitted to running a “tight ship” when it came to her and husband Panio Gianopoulos’ kids Mathilda Ereni Gianopoulos, 22, and twins, 17, Adelle Gianopoulos and Roman Gianopoulos, dating, she did reveal the advice she’s given to her eldest.

“The dating advice I always give her is just to be herself,” Molly told E! News at the premiere for the new film One Night Only in New York City Aug. 3. “And also to respect yourself and not to do anything she doesn't want to do.

As for Mathilda, who joined her mom and younger siblings at the premiere, had her own interpretation of this advice.

“Oh, she’s like, “No second chances, don’t put up with all that,’” The Idea of You alum laughed before pulling her mother in closer for a gentle hug. “I feel like you’re very strict.”

Beyond relationships, Mathilda and Molly—who stars as the mom of Callum Turner’s character Owen as he navigates an alternate reality where single people can legally have sex once a year—made it clear there was nothing more special than a close mother-daughter relationship.

As Mathilda put it, “I tell her everything! She’s like my diary, my go-to.”

The Sixteen Candles actress wasn’t the only One Night Only star so dole out their biggest dating advice as Monica Barbaro, emphasized the importance of respect—and having an actual conversation with the other person.

“I have had girlfriends who have gone on dates with men where the person across from them hasn't asked them a single question about themselves,” The 36-year-old—who has been linked to Andrew Garfield since 2025—told E! News at the premiere. “They take no interest in the other? Like, no. It's just a red flag, it's not gonna go any further."

Luckily, on set, Callum was a much more engaged scene partner.

“We just had a lot of fun immediately,” she said, adding of director Will Gluck, “I think chemistry is a trio; particularly in the rom-com situation."

And that’s a sentiment the filmmaker more than agreed with. "Monica, Callum and I all fell sort of in love-we have so much fun with each other, and trusted each other,” he explained. “We all kinda think the same way.”
