EXCLUSIVE: Krysten Ritter is returning to New York as a guest star for another season of Showtime‘s Dexter: Resurrection for Paramount+.

Who she will play is under wraps. Considering her Season 1 character Mia, aka Lady Vengeance, a serial killer by night and sommelier by day, was killed while jailed, is anyone’s guess. This is not a series that shies away from bringing people back from the dead; it should be noted. However, this is also a series that surprises audiences with mysterious twins that have been under your nose the whole time. At this point, your guess is as good as mine. The real question is: why is she back?

Ritter joins the previously announced Uma Thurman, who returns for Season 2, reprising her character Charley.

In addition to Ritter and Thurman, the new cast also includes newcomers Brian Cox as The New York Ripper, Dan Stevens as The Five Borough Killer, Bokeem Woodbine as Capt. Mixon, and Nona Parker Johnson will play Fiona Mixon.

From showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, Season 1 of Dexter: Resurrection took place weeks after Dexter (Michael C. Hall) took a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Jack Alcott) gone without a trace. Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right.

From Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios, Dexter: Resurrection is executive produced by Phillips, who also serves as showrunner, Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, and Lilly Burns. Additional executive producers include John Goldwyn and Sara Colleton, along with Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, and Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson.

Ritter is repped by CAA, Industry Entertainment, Principal Entertainment, and Brecheen Feldman Breimer Silver & Thompson.
