‘Lanterns’ Summons Best Audience Yet For Third Episode

Lanterns is summoning a bigger audience by the week.

Warner Bros Discovery said Thursday that the DC Studios series scored its best audience yet for the third episode, which debuted Sunday. Within three days, the episode had amassed 10 million global viewers, 7 million of which were U.S.-based.

Since Lanterns premiered on August 16, the pilot has managed more than 20 million viewers worldwide and continues to grow, the company also said. The series launched as one of HBO Max’s top titles.

Lanterns is from co-creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King. New episodes air Sunday nights at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET on HBO and are available at the same time on HBO Max.

The series follows new recruit John Stewart (Aaron Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Kyle Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery with cosmic ties as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.
