Chris Evans is giving a glimpse at his cap-tivating Avengers tattoo.

Over eight years after Evans and his Avengers costars Robert Downey Jr. Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner got matching ink—sixth OG Avenger Mark Ruffalo opted out—the tattoo artist revealed a rare look at the Captain America: The First Avenger star’s ink on his upper ribcage.

“Just a tip of the hat to one of my favorite people before Avengers Doomsday comes out!” East Side Ink tattoo artist Josh Lord wrote in a Aug. 12 Instagram post. “This guy has been there for me during hard times and I’m always honored to be his friend and tattooer.”

In his post, Lord shared a video compilation of photos and clips of Evans over the years, including footage of the 45-year-old lifting up his shirt to show off his Avengers tattoo. The ink features an “A” for the Marvel superhero team, the number six for the six core original members and symbols representing each character: Captain America (Evans), Iron Man (Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Johansson), Thor (Hemsworth), The Incredible Hulk (Ruffalo) and Hawkeye (Renner).

And while Evans—who welcomed baby girl Alma with wife Alba Baptista last October—and his Avengers costars got matching tattoos to celebrate the release of Avengers: Infinity War in May 2018, this appears to be the first time fans have seen a close up of Evans’ tattoo.

After all, the Knives Out actor keeps his ink close to the vest, literally. Evans is known to have a variety of tattoos on his chest, but has rarely shown photos of his art.

Yet, Lord still gave fans a little tease, sharing a pixelated image of a shirtless Evans in his montage. The out of focus image showed a glimpse at the Materialists actor’s ink on his chest and torso, including a large eagle tattoo on his pectoral.

“(Still keeping his other tattoos private by request but this blurry one of him was his own choice to release..),” Lord continued in his caption, before praising Evans. “Obviously Chris is a brilliant actor who has done sooo much more than just Captain America. Anyone lucky enough to see him on stage will attest to that, plus countless of my favorite movies, but this is a post inspired by the upcoming movie.”

Indeed, the New York-based tattoo artist’s praise of Evans comes as Marvel fans anxiously await to see his return as Steve Rogers in Avengers Doomsday—in theaters Dec. 18—after last being seen in Avengers: Endgame. (Fellow OG Avenger Downey is also returning to the mix, though this time he’s playing the villainous Doctor Doom.)

As for when Evans realized it was the right moment to come back?

“I got a phone call from my team saying there’s a rumor [Downey Jr. is] talking to Marvel, and I was like, ‘Uh, oh. What does this mean?’” he recalled to Entertainment Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con last month. “And all of a sudden it felt right. [Doomsday co-director Joe Russo] gave me the pitch, and Downey was [back]. It just all of a sudden, it was like, ‘This is it.’”
