Mary Bonnet is opening up about the strange adjustment of no longer filming Selling Sunset.

The longtime cast member, who was one of the Netflix reality show’s original stars, is not returning for season 10 after her contract was not renewed. However, Mary previously made it clear that she is still with The Oppenheim Group.

“I’m not fired to make that clear. I’m very much still the Vice President at the Oppenheim Group. I’m still very much a part of the Oppenheim Group and doing real estate and best friends with Jason [Oppenheim],” she told Inman News in June.

Mary talks about FOMO after leaving the show

During an appearance on Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey released on Tuesday (July 7), Mary was asked if she feels FOMO now that the cast is filming without her.

“It’s weird,” she admitted, recalling a recent conversation with Jason. “I was like, ‘Hey, what are you doing tomorrow?’ He’s like, ‘Oh, we’re filming like this thing,’ and he’s like, ‘I feel so weird saying that without you,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah.'”

Mary said the first few days felt especially surreal.

“I mean, it does feel weird. I think now it’s been about a month or two or something, I think, maybe. I don’t know when they started filming, but I think the first couple of days it was like, it felt like I was in a different universe,” she shared. “I haven’t been anybody except on their show for like nine seasons. It’s like, what? Seven years, something like that, and I’m like, it just felt so bizarre. I’m like, ‘Who am I? What am I doing?'”

She also shared that she is still on the cast text chain, joking that messages about filming have led to replies like, “S–t, sorry, Mary.”

What she thinks about Selling Sunset season 10

Mary said part of her is sad about how things played out, especially because she felt the show had become less positive.

“It didn’t need to be like that where they had to switch things up and where ratings were dropping and all this chaos was going on and they felt the need to edit and stuff like that,” she said. “It was like, it’s sad, but you know, maybe it’ll do great for them and they’re like, ‘Wow, this was like the best thing ever for this recasting and stuff.’ Who knows? But to me, it’s a little sad.”

As for the upcoming season, Mary said it could be interesting with new cast members, though she wondered if Christine Quinn‘s presence could feel “entertaining or repetitive.”

“I hope that they succeed. I hope that they get more positive,” she added.

Former Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause recently appeared to call Mary out over her political opinions.
