Donald Trump and Kaitlan Collins had a bit of a back-and-forth today (September 22) at the United Nations in New York City.
If you did not see the news, last week, Trump banned CNN from the White House, and then the five major TV networks – CNN, ABC News, CBS News, NBC News and Fox News – came together to share they would not be covering White House pool duties as a result.
At the UN today, Trump got into it with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins when he saw her
“It’s an honor to be here. I’m surprised that CNN is here covering me. You shouldn’t be here, you should not — you should not be here covering me, you said you weren’t going to cover me. You shouldn’t be covering me,” Trump said. “But I will tell you: It is an honor to be at the United Nations and we’re making a lot of progress. Our country is doing really, really well.”
Kaitlan attempted to tell him that the United Nations allowed them in.

Kaitlan Collins then explained on the air to viewers, “We never said we were not going to cover the president, we will do our best to cover him each and every day. We were actually positioned in this spot last year when the president was here, long before all of this back and forth over access to The White House began as it did on Friday. And we will continue to cover the president, despite their efforts to block CNN from accessing The White House grounds, as we are currently fighting in court.”
If you did not see, this is not the first time they’ve had issues. During the re-scheduled White House Correspondents’ Dinner in July, the 80-year-old President made vile remakes about the 34-year-old CNN anchor’s appearance and demeanor.
