Madonna has art all around her home, including her bathroom.
The 67-year-old “I Feel So Free” Queen of Pop invited Vogue into her London home for an “Objects of My Affection” feature, where she provided a glimpse into her gorgeous home filled with meaningful treasures, including some rather unexpected items along the way.
At one point in the tour, Madonna brought viewers into her bathroom.
“I like to have art in my bathroom as well. A few of my favorite pieces are these penis sculptures, or my collection of c-cks as I like to refer to them,” she explained, adding: “I have four. Two small and two big.”
“The name of the artist is Anderson Asteclines. He’s a young Brazilian artist right now. He’s a part of the program that Tracey Emin runs,” she went on to explain.
“So I went to visit Tracy and I met Anderson. I also bought one of his paintings recently and it was about his relationship with his mother and I asked him, ‘Is your mother proud of you? Has she seen your paintings? Do you show her your work?’ And he said, ‘No, I think it might disturb her. And I don’t want to upset my mother ever.’ He told me that every one of his paintings were in some way about her. I actually almost started crying and I was very touched by his story,” she continued.
“Said goodbye to him after spending some time with him. He came running after me with this brown paper bag and he said, ‘Oh, I want to give you something.’ Got in the car. Started driving home. And I opened the bag and it was these beautiful penises. They’re just really lovely and here they are, objects of my affection.”
The artist then responded on Instagram with a sweet message.
“I just wanted to share this amazing video of Madonna presenting some of her favourite objects in her London home. There are so many beautiful memories and sentimental moments of her life! Woww. Thank you for supporting me and sharing with the world. I’ve made the c-cks with Kirubel for the summer fair at the residency. what a Wonderful time!! It means the world.. I’m in tears! I feel so touched by all the stories. I love Esther‘s blanket, and Rocco’s sculpture!! They are Absolutely gorgeous omg. We’re all patiently counting down to 3rd July. I can barely process this right now. This is absolutely wild! Thank you! xx” he wrote.
