The Princess of Wales debuted a new blonde hairdo as she and her family, including husband Prince William and kids Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11 and Prince Louis, 8, enjoyed a stay at the royal residence Balmoral Castle in Aberdeen, Scotland.

Kate showed off her blonde ambition as the royals arrived for services at Crathie Kirk Church Aug. 23, smiling in the family car while wearing a pillbox hat and ruffled collar white shirt under a blazer. The 44-year-old completed the look with dangling gold earrings.

While Kate often keeps it classic with her fashion choices, she’s not afraid to mix it up with her hair, also opting for a blonde balayage style last September when she and William visited the Natural History Museum in London.

And her lighter locks often get an assist from the family’s summer adventures, as according to Daily Mail Kate told actress Su Pollard at the Royal Variety Performance in November her hair “used to be brown, but it’s gone light in the sunshine.”

The royal’s latest tresses transformation also comes not long after Kate took part in the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise awareness about holistic healthcare for cancer and to support the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity after sharing in January 2025 that her own cancer was in remission.

“I have taken on the National Three Peaks Challenge, not simply as a physical endeavour but as a chance to explore life beyond diagnosis and to give something back,” she said in a June Instagram post. “The Royal Marsden is a place that holds great meaning for me and whose care and expertise are life changing for so many people.”

“Healing, whether personal or collective, is not just about fixing what is wrong. It is about finding balance in how we live. Between effort and acceptance, between control and trust, between thinking and simply being,” Kate continued. “Because in the end, bravery isn’t just about pushing forward. It is about knowing how to stay grounded, connected and present, no matter the terrain or landscape you are walking.”
