EXCLUSIVE: Noomi Rapace, Ron Funches, Michael Biehn, Roland MØller, Laz Alonso, Basil Eidenbenz, and Dan Fogler are joining Amazon MGM Studios and Thunder Road’s The Kellys, opposite previously announced Arnold Schwarzenegger, Liam Hemsworth, Kelsey Asbille, Abby Elliot, and Geena Davis.

Brad Peyton is directing, as we first told you, off Tze Chun’s screenplay. Pic follows Jack Kelly, a disgraced NYC cop whose wife, Molly, is taken hostage by terrorists inside an old armory building. He’ll have to join forces with the people he fears most to save her: His family.

Amazon MGM landed global distribution for the pic, and will stream it in more than 240 countries on Prime Video. Swedish actress Rapace shot to fame with her turn as Lisbeth Salander in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, The Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest, earning a Guldbagge Award, a Jupiter Award, and BAFTA and European Film Award nominations. Her feature credits include Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel Prometheus, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, Lamb and TV series Jack Ryan, Constellation and Django. She has received multiple Best Actress honors across Europe, including for Beyond and Babycall, and won Denmark’s Bodil and Robert Awards for Daisy Diamond. The actress is repped by Range Media Partners, Independent Talent Group, Stella Hernström, and Kurt Selling.

Stand-up Funches counts TV roles onThe Goldbergs, Blackish, New Girl, Transparent, Single Drunk Female, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Powerless,  Undateable, Loot, and Traitors. Film credits include Get Hard, Lexi, Noelle, 6 Underground and 80 for Brady. Funches is represented by CAA, Truhett Management and Cohen/Gardner LLP.

Biehn is an actor, filmmaker, and genre icon best known for his collaborations with James Cameron, including his roles in The Terminator, Aliens, and The Abyss. Biehn will next be seen in Onslaught for A24, with additional film credits including Tombstone, The Rock, K2, The Lords of Discipline, Rampage, Jade, and Grindhouse. Television credits include season three of Law & Order: Organized Crime, the final season of AMC’s The Walking Dead, and season two of the acclaimed Disney+ series The Mandalorian. The actor is represented by Realm Talent and Berwick & Kovacik. 

MØller will next be seen in Lionsgate’s Mutiny, playing the lead villain role opposite Jason Statham and Annabelle Wallis. He also appeared in the Danish thriller series Englemageren. Roland is known as the star of Land of Mine, for which he was awarded the Bodil Award for Best Actor by the Danish Film Critics Association. The film premiered strongly at TIFF and played at Sundance, and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Additional series credits include the Citadel for Amazon MGM and The North Water for BBC. Additional film credits include the critically acclaimed Riders of Justice, Skyscraper, Blood Red Sky for Netflix, and Medieval. MØller is represented by CAA. 

Alonso stars in Prime Video’s The Boys. Later this year, Alsonso stars in the Netflix romantic drama Don’t Ever Wonder, inspired by Maxwell’s iconic album Urban Hang Suite. Additional film credits include James Cameron’s Avatar, Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit, his NAACP Image Award–winning performance in Jumping the Broom, Guy Ritchie’s Fountain of Youth, and Fast & Furious. Alonso is represented by IAG, Authentic Management, Bespoke Publicity, and Rick Genow. Eidenbenz starred in Netflix fantasy series The Witcher, alongside television roles in Down Cemetery Road(Apple TV+), Maxton Hall Season 2 (Amazon MGM), Victoria (ITV), The Athena (Sky) and two seasons of X Company (CBC). Feature credits include Ingeborg Bachmann – Journey Into the Desert, directed by Margarethe von Trotta; The Favourite, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos; Denial, directed by Mick Jackson; Another Mother’s Son; and the lead role in the independent feature Wildings. Eidenbenz is represented internationally by Identity Agency Group (IAG), and Budde Talent Agency in Germany.

Tony award-winning actor Fogler can most recently be seen in the series adaptation of The Rainmaker for USA and James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown for Universal. Fogler currently appears in Season 3 of the HBO hit series House of the Dragon. Fogler starred in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Other credits include Netflix’s Eric, Paramount+’s The Offer, AMC’s The Walking Dead, Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock, and the comedies Fanboys and Balls of Fury. Fogler is represented by Verve Talent and Literary, Entertainment 360, and Common Ground Entertainment.
