Zendaya is staying off of the web—the world wide web, that is.

As the Spider-Man: Brand New Day actress kicked off her 30th birthday, her mom Claire Stoermer shared a sweet birthday message, despite knowing Zendaya won’t being among those hitting that like button.

“Happy 30th birthday to the love and light of my life!!” Stoermer, who shares Zendaya with ex Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, wrote on Instagram Sept. 1 alongside a throwback picture of the Odyssey star. “Even tho you’re not on socials anymore, and you won’t see this!! we just got off facetime!!”

Though the actress’ official Instagram account boasting 177 million followers is still activated, she has stayed off the ‘gram over the last few months, most recently sharing the Dune: Part Three trailer on July 8.

It’s not exactly surprising that she’s shying away from social media as over the last few years, beyond rare birthday throwbacks, she’s generally used her Instagram to showcase her new movies—and not to mention her jaw-dropping press tour looks.

And over the last year, she has certainly kept busy with films The Drama, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and The Odyssey—with husband Tom Holland joining her for the latter two—not to mention the third and final season of Euphoria all releasing in 2026.

As for Dune: Part Three, that film—her third of the year with Robert Pattinson after The Drama and The Odyssey—is set to premiere in December.

But, as Zendaya previously hinted, after this whirlwind year of films, she’s ready to shake up her schedule.

“I just hope you guys don’t get sick of me this year because I’ll tell you what—I’m disappearing for a little bit,” she told Fandango in March. “I’m going to have to go into hiding for just a little bit.”

And although she’s admitted to having a “long year,” that hiatus ultimately might not be all that long.

As she told Elle in May, “As soon as I take a break, I start to go crazy. And I’m like, ‘I need to work.’”
