Nick Cannon is honoring his late son Zen.
On Tuesday (June 23), the 45-year-old Masked Singer host took to Instagram to pay tribute to his late son, whom he shared with Alyssa Scott, on what would have been his 5th birthday.
“6/23 will forever be a day of light!” Nick wrote while sharing several photos of Zen. “Turning our pain to purpose! We celebrate the life of our Young King Zen Scott Cannon!”
“We honor our beautiful son and the precious moments we got to share in the physical and the constant energy we share in the Spirit daily,” he continued. “We are always reminded that ‘To be absent from the body is to be present with the Most High’ 2 Corinthians 5:8. We love you son.”
If you didn’t know, Zen tragically died from brain cancer at 5 months old in 2021.
Days after marking what would have Zen‘s 5th birthday, Nick shared photos from a service on the beach in honor of his late son.
“What a beautiful celebration of life for our Angel Zen Scott Cannon. ‘For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made His light shine in our hearts.’— 2 Corinthians 4:6,” Nick wrote as he posed alongside Alyssa, family, and friends. “Zen’s Light will forever shine in our hearts. We love you my son.”
Along with Zen, Nick and Alyssa also share 3-year-old daughter Halo. Alyssa also has an older daughter from a previous relationship.
