EXCLUSIVE: Spyglass is developing the eighth installment of the Scream franchise with Lilla and Nora Zuckerman writing.
The Zuckerman sisters most recently served as showrunners for the hit Peacock series Poker Face and have worked as writers and co-executive producers on popular series including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Suits, Fringe and Prodigal Son.
The news come as Scream 7 — which saw the franchise’s original scribe, Kevin Williamson, step behind the camera for the first time on the horror series — rack up over $200M at the global box office; it’s the first time a Scream movie has crossed that milestone in its 30-year existence. The seventhquel, which saw the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney, also opened to a franchise global record debut of $97.2M. The Paramount co-financed movie also starred Isabel May, Courteney Cox, Anna Camp, Joel McHale and Matthew Lillard.
The Zuckermans are repped by UTA and Lichter Grossman Nichols.

I love this franchise. I’m too scared to watch stuff like this in theatres, but I always watch them right when they’re available to watch at home.
Who cares about this franchise, it’s going to be the same thing from here on out after part four. Some random obsessed fan of the original murders or Sydney wants to up the original. It’s been that way since part four and it’s gotten boring. Part two and three at least were connected to the original murders and cast, since then it’s just scream in name only with nothing connecting to the original mythology.
The Zucks are killing it! I love to see it. I miss hearing the summer camp stories with the German nutbags. Congratulations! Aaron
Wait, they botch Buffy and now are being given the keys to Scream? I guess there’s nowhere to go but up, but yikes…
They developed a series that didn’t get greenlit so you think they should blacklisted and never be hired again? So, just about every writer in town should be out of work in that case.
