Comedian Adam Friedland is set to bring his podcast, “The Adam Friedland Show,” to Spotify in July.The podcast will relaunch with its third season and partner with the streaming service for ad sales and distribution across all podcast platforms.“I couldn’t be more excited. I asked my colleagues at Spotify for a Spotify premium membership, and they said they’d look into it,” joked Friedland about the new arrangement.Bill Simmons, founder of The Ringer and head of talk strategy, Spotify, added, “I thought the interview podcast had been taken every place it could go, but Adam Friedland somehow reinvented it again. It’s a terrific show, and I can’t wait to never go on it.”As part of the new collaboration, Friedland, who is also a football/soccer fan and Arsenal supporter, will work with Spotify’s The Ringer on an all-new podcast mini-series titled “The Adam Friedland Show Presents: The Beautiful Pod” to cover the upcoming World Cup.
Joined by The Ringer’s Chris Ryan and other hosts, the series will premiere on June 10 and run throughout the World Cup, reacting to the tournament action through Friedland’s comedic lens. New video episodes will drop on Tuesdays and Fridays on “The Adam Friedland Show” feed on Spotify and anywhere podcasts are available.News of the upcoming project first broke on “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” when Friedland appeared as a guest on the June 7 episode.Friedland first worked on the comedy podcast “Cum Town” before launching “The Adam Friedland Show,” which is loosely inspired by “The Dick Cavett Show.”The Ringer was launched by Bill Simmons in 2016 and acquired by Spotify in 2020.
