Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards have ended their engagement.
The Bachelor in Paradise couple confirmed their split on Tuesday (September 8), nearly one year after Spencer proposed to Jess during the Season 10 finale of the ABC reality show.
The breakup also comes just weeks after Jess publicly shut down speculation that the couple had called it quits.
Why Did Spencer Conley & Jess Edwards Split?
Spencer and Jess announced the news in a joint statement shared to their Instagram Stories.
“After a lot of honest conversations and reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to end our engagement and go our separate ways,” the statement said, via People.
“There wasn’t one moment that brought us here,” they continued.
Spencer and Jess added that they still have “so much love and respect for each other and for what we shared.”

The announcement comes about a month after Jess addressed speculation that she and Spencer had split on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast.

Jess pushed back on comments questioning whether she was still wearing her engagement ring, pointing out that the ring was clearly visible in her recent videos.
Spencer and Jess met while filming Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise and became one of the season’s success stories, with Spencer proposing during the finale.
At the same time, one Bachelor alum just revealed they’re expecting twins.
