MomTok is setting the record straight about its latest bouts of drama, including Taylor Frankie Paul’s Bachelorette controversy, in the upcoming season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Hulu released a trailer for Season 5 on Wednesday morning, promising that audiences have heard the rumors, but now they’ll get the “gospel” truth.
“There’s so much stuff the public doesn’t know,” Mayci Neeley says in a confessional at the top of the trailer. Adds Jessi Draper: “We might have to have a little drama, which is on brand for MomTok.”
The trailer is, of course, alluding primarily to the still-unaired season of The Bachelorette that was pulled after a video emerged earlier this year from a 2023 incident showing Paul throwing metal stools at ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen and apparently hitting one of her children. Amid the fallout from that, Secret Lives temporarily stopped production, and Paul took an extended break from filming.
Audiences clearly haven’t seen the last of that duo, though, considering a clip from the trailer shows Paul on FaceTime with Mortenson asking him about his new tattoo of her initials on the inside of his lip.
But, that’s not all. The trailer also teases additional confrontation between Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt, the latter of whom is leaving the series after Season 5. The pair hit a rocky patch while they were both filming Dancing with the Stars — another bit of drama that’s gone unresolved for viewers thus far. The women have been alluding that all will be revealed in Season 5 for some time.

We hear Season 5, which will air later this year, will only feature five episodes, rather than the traditional 10 that the previous seasons have been. The series has been renewed for an additional 20 episodes, and cameras are already rolling.
