When you wish upon a star, you may just find love with your fellow Disney Channel colleague. 

Indeed, there are more than a few celebs who dated during their come up on the iconic network. And, yes, some of their connections will make you believe in magic.

Take Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato, whose romance began while filming Camp Rock 2 back in 2010.

But their time together was short-lived as the pair backed down on their romantic feelings for one another in a matter of months.

“Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one,” Jonas told Us Weekly in 2025. “I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up."

But it’s obviously a brand new day for the pair, who recently reunited onscreen for Camp Rock 3.

“I love her as a friend,” he added of Lovato, who wed musician Jutes last year. “She’s been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her.” 

And there seems to be something extra special on the sets of Disney’s most iconic musicals.

After all, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron also sparked up a fabulous romance while filming High School Musical in 2005.  

“We created a bond right from the start,” Hudgens told People in 2022. “We were like, ‘We’re doing this, it’s us or nothing.’”

In other words, they were all in this together. “It started off really organically,” she added. “I could not have been more grateful to have that relationship at that time.”

And while they fostered a connection while working on set, other Disney darlings found love despite some distance between them.

Case in point: Miley Cyrus and Dylan Sprouse dated while filming Hannah Montana and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, respectively. 

“Dylan Sprouse was my boyfriend,” Cyrus told Alex Cooper during March’s Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special,“I think he was the cutest.”

Responding to past rumors that she and Sprouse were an item, the “Wrecking Ball” singer added, “It's true, confirmed.”

Disney Channel worlds collided after Sabrina Carpenter met Bradley Steven Perry. 

The Girl Meets World star and Good Luck Charlie actor’s romance began in 2014, when Carpenter’s show began filming right next door to Perry’s Mighty Med.

“[It was a] really unique way to ask someone out,” Carpenter told J-14 at the time, describing a scene out of a pirate flick: “Like, they do the little bottles and they put notes in them and send them across the ocean, like one of those, and [he] put a note inside. It was cute.”

Though they broke up in 2015, Perry—who married Candace Cameron Bure’s daughter Natasha Bure in 2025—noted that their connection was a sweet young love.

 “Sabrina was my first girlfriend,” Perry said during an appearance on the Unplanned Podcast in 2024. “We dated for about two years.”

He added, “It was very much like a little high school relationship.”

Bella Thorne and Gregg Sulkin shook up young Hollywood when they first stepped out together in 2015.

But the Shake It Up alum and Wizards of Waverly Place actor went their separate ways a year later.

“Our schedules made seeing each other difficult," Thorne and Sulkin told People in a joint statement back in 2016, “and we decided that for now this would be best.”

But they’ll always look back on their fairytale romance with a smile. 

“After much thought and soul-searching, we have made the difficult decision to end our relationship,” they added. “We will always love each other and have a deep respect for one another, as we have each grown to be better people because of our time together.”

Can you imagine what would happen if Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens never dated?

The High School Musical alums hit it off as soon as the cameras started rolling for the franchise’s first film in 2005.

“We created a bond right from the start,” Hudgens—who played the Gabriella Montez to Efron’s Troy Bolton in the films—told People in 2022. “We were like, ‘We’re doing this, it’s us or nothing.’”

Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez’s romance was burnin’ up from 2008 to 2010.

And while they shared two years together, Gomez’s real prize from the relationship would have to be her unbreakable bond with BFF Taylor Swift.”

“Taylor and I dated the Jonas Brothers,” Gomez—who married Benny Blanco in 2025—said during a 2025 episode of the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast of how she and Swift met. “I dated Nick and she dated Joe [Jonas]. And everything  was cute, we were young. We all know and love each other now and it’s so cute.”

Gomez added of her relationship with Jonas, dad to daughter Malti with wife Priyanka Chopra, “She and I like to say the best thing we got out of those relationships was each other because it was really sweet.”

At one point, Miley Cyrus thought Dylan Sprouse could be the one. 

Indeed, the Hannah Montana alum revealed she and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody star were much more than work colleagues.

“Dylan Sprouse was my boyfriend,” Cyrus told Alex Cooper during the March 2026 Disney+ Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special. “I think he was the cutest.”

Responding to past rumors that she and Sprouse—who married model Barbara Palvin in 2023—were an item, the “Flowers” singer added, “It's true, confirmed.”

But during their brief romance, she also got to spend quality time with Sprouse’s twin brother Cole Sprouse—though she knew she couldn’t have the best of both worlds. 

“Dylan was my crush,” Cyrus continued. “Their dad would take us to sushi. I was into the whole culture, and it was a two-for-one. Like, bring the brother. Hello!”

Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato may be like Venus and Mars, but they were once on the same astral plane. 

After all, the Camp Rock alums took their romance offscreen in 2010 while filming the film’s sequel, though they backed down from the connection about a year later.

“Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one,” Jonas told Us Weekly in 2025. “I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now.”

That’s why the Jonas Brothers member wouldn’t change a thing about the love story he shared with Lovato—who married Jordan “Jutes” Lutes in 2025. 

“It was my choice to break up,” Jonas—who shares daughters Willa and Delphine with ex-wife Sophie Turner—added, “but I love her as a friend. She’s been there for me when I needed her. I will continue to be her friend and be there for her.”
