EXCLUSIVE: Prime Video‘s The Probability of Miracles adds Michaela Watkins, Georgia Acken, and Ema Inês to its cast, led by the previously announced Melissa Collazo and Henry Eikenberry. The series is a TV adaptation of the novel of the same name by Wendy Wunder.

The Probability of Miracles follows Campbell Cooper (Collazo), an acerbic teenager dying of cancer who, after receiving a terminal diagnosis, moves with her mom and younger sister to the town of Promise, where miracles are said to happen. Cam, however, doesn’t believe in miracles. How could she when science says she’s definitely going to die? But as she spends her summer in this quirky, mystical town, she discovers that miracles — and falling in love — are still possible, no matter how improbable they may seem.

Watkins will play Elaine, who carries the spirit of Promise as the town’s head librarian, postmaster, sheriff, veterinarian, chaplain, and aunt to Asher (Eikenberry). Grounded, soulful, kind, and acerbic, Elaine is a true believer of Promise who has found a profound sense of hope in the wake of past tragedy and becomes Alicia’s first real friend.

Acken will play Perry, Cam’s outgoing, athletic, and effortlessly cool little sister. Everything in life just seems to come more easily to Perry than it does to Cam, but the truth is, Perry looks up to her big sister and is terrified of losing her. Dealing with a few problems of her own that she hasn’t shared with her mother or sister, she wouldn’t mind a little magic this summer.

Inês will play Jade, an artistic, confident local who grew up in Promise alongside the town’s famed “Catalogue Kids.” She’s well-connected and quick to form an opinion about why newcomer Cam has arrived for the summer.

The series is produced by Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and Amazon MGM Studios. Alloy’s Leslie Morgenstein is also an executive producer, alongside Laura Lancaster. Ella Jones will direct and executive produce the first episode.

Inês is repped by Play Management and Jackoway Austen Tyerman; Acken is repped by Play Management, Thruline Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman; Watkins is repped by Haven Entertainment, Gersh, and Felker, McGinnis & Ryan.
