Mario Lopez has deleted a social media post amid backlash.
The 52-year-old TV personality attended a Los Angeles Dodgers game over the weekend with his 19-year-old niece Kalia Wong. While at the game, it appears he created an AI-generated video using X’s Grok.
In the 15-second clip, Kalia picks up two hot dogs covered in mustard and relish. She takes a bite out of both of them at the same time, spilling mustard all over her face.
Mario says in the clip, “I can’t take her anywhere! Oh my god, look at you! You’re a mess! The mustard!” The AI version of Kalia screams out, “It’s so good!” She then spreads the mustard all over her face.
People have pointed out that AI-generated video appears to be sexualizing Mario‘s niece and people were disturbed that he would post something like that. The video has since been deleted from his page, but it has been reposted online already.
Journalist Yashar Ali posted, “Uhhhh, what a creepy video for Mario Lopez to create using AI and then post… Especially since the subject is his niece!”
Mario kept one post from the game live on his X page. He wrote, “Sunshine, baseball, family… doesn’t get much better than that. Let’s keep this postseason momentum rolling.”
