Hadestown has already conquered Broadway, the West End and, apparently, the box office. Now, the Tony-winning musical is heading home. As of today (Aug. 25), Hadestown: The Musical is now available to purchase or rent digitally, with Blu-ray and DVD editions due out on Oct. 20. Both physical versions are currently available for preorder.

The filmed stage production had an impressive run in theaters after opening across North America on July 24. In its first weekend, it earned $10.2 million, beating the $10.1 million opening weekend of Hamilton’s theatrical stage capture in 2025. The result made Hadestown the biggest opening for a live theater capture at the North American box office.

And audiences weren’t exactly ready to say goodbye. The film brought in another $8 million in its second week, pushing its domestic total to $18.2 million.

For anyone who didn’t make it to the theater, there’s an easier way to see what all the fuss is about. Starting today, the filmed musical is available for digital purchase and rental through services including Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. On both platforms, the purchase price is $24.99, while a 48-hour rental is listed at $19.99.

And if you’d rather own a copy, the Blu-ray and DVD editions are already available for preorder on Amazon ahead of their October release.
