JioStar exec Ramesh Mundhra is leaving the Indian content giant for Subedaar producer Abundantia Entertainment.

He takes up the role of Head – Business Affairs, Strategy and Operations at the company, which has this year launched the likes of Daldal, Maa Behen and Subedaar, which topped Prime Video charts in 31 countries earlier this year and starred Anil Kapoor.

Mundhra spent 18 years at JioStar and its predecessor Viacom18 in areas such as studios, production, and strategy , working on titles such as Padmaavat, Andhadhun, and Fighter among others. Prior to Viacom18, he worked in in finance and business operations at Tata Sky.

Abundantia’s pipeline for the second half of 2026 and and 2027, includes the likes of Netflix series Family Business, Prime Video movie Sundar Poonam and theatrical release Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal, along with a slate of films driven by AI from Abundantia’s AI content vertical, aiON.

Abundantia, founded in 2013, is best known for the likes of Chhorii, Chhorii 2 and Prime Video thriller series Breathe. Last year, it launched AI division Abundantia aiON and more recently announced a ₹100 crore ($10.5M) strategic partnership with Invideo to launch an Indian AI-driven film studio.
