Moonbug Entertainment, the company behind CoComelon, launches Big Feelings Music, with Snoop Dogg’s Doggyland among its initial partnerships.
Moonbug Entertainment, the company behind the kids’ entertainment YouTube channel CoComelon, has announced the launch of Big Feelings Music, a new music company focusing on family-friendly and children’s music.
Big Feelings Music will provide label services, publishing administration, and video distribution that includes YouTube to artists, creators, and studios that create children’s music. Its offerings also include rights management, marketing, and even audience development.
Among its launch partners are Snoop Dogg’s Doggyland, English Tree TV, Mooseclumps, Baby Bandstand, Badanamu, Bob Zoom, Lotty Friends, and Skyvibe. Additional signings are currently in development, including Joy Joy World, Bumble Bree, and Nookaboos.
A “fully integrated music company,” Moonbug says Big Feelings Music was built on the infrastructure developed to grow existing franchises such as CoComelon and Blippi.
“We’ve seen firsthand the challenges artists, creators, and studios can face in turning dedicated audiences into sustainable businesses,” said Jon Benoy, Managing Director of Platforms and Music at Moonbug Entertainment. “We’ve spent years building the distribution, music publishing, video, and platform infrastructure behind franchises like CoComelon and Blippi. With Big Feelings Music, we’re opening it up to others so they can focus on creating exceptional music while we help them reach families at scale.”
As an early example of its new model, Moonbug spearheaded a collaboration between Blippi and Snoop’s Doggyland, which saw the release of “My Ice Cream Truck (Doggyland Version)” in August.
“Snoop and I created Doggyland with a shared vision of using music to educate, inspire, and help kids feel confident in who they are,” said Claude Brooks, Executive Producer and Co-Creator of Doggyland. “Partnering with Big Feelings Music gives us an exciting opportunity to expand that mission, reach even more families around the world, and continue creating music that kids love and parents feel good about.”
In 2021, Moonbug signed an exclusive global deal with Universal Music Group that covers worldwide distribution, publishing, and licensing for the label. Candle Media owns the company, having acquired Moonbug in 2021. Candle is backed by Blackstone and is operated by former Disney execs Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs.
