Especially as the Duke of Sussex made the sweetest surprise appearance on the July 26 episode of MasterChef Australia where his wife was doing a stint as a guest judge.
“G’day,” Harry began in a video call as Meghan turned the phone to the crowd, excitedly saying, “My husband’s here.”
Harry, 41, seemed slightly uncertain of what he’d phoned into, asking his wife of eight years, “What’s going on? Have I interrupted something important?”
Meghan introduced him to the contestants and judges Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli, adding, “Well, we are actually in the middle of tasting all the dishes. We have four incredible cooks here.
“It’s amazing, they’re so talented. We wish you were here,” the 44-year-old raved, telling her fellow judges, “He’s in Canberra right now with the veterans.”
And Harry was clearly delighted by not only Meghan’s judging role, but also the show itself, saying, “The chandeliers in the background, that’s very nice,” to which Poh replied, “Yeah, we fancied the joint up for your beautiful wife.”
Meghan also made sure to compliment the contestant, noting she wished Harry could try all of the “fantastic” dishes in front of her.
“There’s a hot sauce that—well you know me, it’s a sambal and it is so good,” she said. “I think it might be too much for you, though. It’s spicy.”
Harry took the ribbing in stride, signing off the call with, “Go and enjoy it. I’m very sorry to disturb you. All is well here and I’ll see you later.”
Meghan’s appearance on MasterChef Australia had been filmed back in April during the couple’s trip down under with the As Ever founder introducing the contestants to their challenge for the day: picking a "hero" ingredient to spotlight in a dish that tells a story about a memory or their family.
She even shared a few stories about her own family while introducing the various items, adding that kids Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are big fans of Brussels sprouts and that she grows strawberries and mandarins on her farm in California.
The With Love, Meghan host also opted for a more casual approach during her appearance on the show, telling the judges that they didn’t need to call her Duchess and could instead, “Call me Meghan.”
