Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy‘s wife Mia Bieniemy was reportedly shot at their home on Sunday (July 26) in Virginia.

The 57-year-old is reportedly in stable condition at this time, ESPN reports. Police said they responded to the shooting at 7:32 p.m. ET on Sunday. No other details were released about the alleged shooting.

Loudoun County police told the network that someone was being treated for “serious injuries,” but did not confirm it was Mia who was shot.

If you are not aware, Eric is currently with the Chiefs at Missouri Western State campus for training camp in St. Joseph, Missouri. Training camp takes place from July 28 through to August 20. The Chiefs will have their first pre-season game on August 15, but stars like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce likely won’t have too much play time as they prepare for the regular season.

In a statement, the Chiefs acknowledged they were “aware of the incident involving Eric Bieniemy’s family.”

No further details have been released at this time.

Eric was with the Chiefs as their OC from 2018 to 2022, and then took over the position this year after a few years away.

Our thoughts are with Mia and the Bieniemy family.
