The Grammy-winning metal band dropped their new single “Arsenal” this week, marking their first new song in more than three years.

Who Stars in Slipknot’s “Arsenal” Music Video?

The track arrived alongside an official music video directed by band member M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan, and Tell Me Lies actor Jackson White stars in the visual.

Who Left & Who Joined Slipknot?

“Arsenal” also marks a new era for Slipknot following several lineup changes. It is the band’s first new song featuring drummer Eloy Casagrande, who joined the group in 2024, as well as their first since the recent departure of longtime turntablist Sid Wilson. It is also their first release since longtime sampler and keyboardist Craig Jones left the band in 2023.

The song was produced by Slipknot and Matt Wallace, while Corey Taylor, Shawn Crahan, Jim Root, Mick Thomson, Alessandro Venturella, Michael Pfaff and Eloy Casagrande are credited as writers.

What Are Slipknot’s “Arsenal” Lyrics About?

The lyrics find Corey sounding defiant as he addresses his longevity and the pressure to follow trends.

“I fought a f—n’ god and the god lost,” he declares during the first verse. Later, he describes himself as a “hack and a has-been” before insisting that he doesn’t want to be a fad.

The song also touches on the noise inside Corey‘s own head. During the bridge, he wishes that the voices in his head would find something else to focus on before abruptly telling the band to stop the music.

The band’s press release describes the track as mixing metal, punk and hip-hop influences, while characterizing Corey‘s lyrics as displaying “self-aware braggadocio.” The release also frames “Arsenal” as a statement about Slipknot refusing to chase trends nearly three decades into their career.

“Arsenal” is available to stream now, and you can watch the Jackson White-starring music video and read the lyrics below.
